The legs for the header image are here. This is just a silly little hack to get them to display properly. Well done for looking at the code anyways :P

March 2007

1st Mar

Super Science Fiction

Sound good to you? It sure does to us and judging by the Borderline website, that's the title for the forthcoming The Seal Cub Clubbing Club album.

If you haven't already, book some tickets here and come see the band (probably) play the hits before they're released!

1st Mar

A tasty poster has appeared uponce the SCCC Myspace. How long it has been there is unknown but be sure that our Myspace correspondent, Jnnifer, shall be getting one hell of a beating for not discovering this herself. Lazy good for nothing...

Here is the poster:
March 2007 tour poster

No one will really get beaten up here and if we ever say otherwise it's in jest (we won't ever ingest anyone either).

Sorry about the delay with this, thought we'd posted it already but it seems not.

We heard back from John SCCC the other day regarding the album title, Super Science Fiction. It turns out that it is the provisional title for the album for when it is sent out to radio stations and the like. It might stick, it might not. It's not been finalised enough for us to change our links on the site yet.

In other news, it seems that the image we posted below will be in either this weeks or next weeks New Musical Express. It'll be worth the £1.80 for something nice you can clip out and stick on your wall, you won't need to pay much attention to the dates because you're already coming to at least one of the forthcoming gigs aren't you!

Bits of the site will be getting a bit or a going over in the next few days coming up to the weekend, especially the band page and the band member bios which will be updated to include some juicy goss that we read somewhere.

If you're in the mood for listening to something a bit different this week, we recommend Madrid Axemen as they are proper good and local to us here at I Tried On Your Wedding Dress :P you never know, you might like them.

Edit: Woah! It turns out that the NME now costs a whopping £2.10! Sorry if we made you think it was in some way affordable.

It seems that Revere are joining in the jollyness at the London Borderline gig on Friday 16th March. They join White Trash ana Half Cast in supporting the well good Seal Cub Clubbing Club. Other known supports on the tour are...

At Carling Academy, Liverpool: White Trash ana Half Cast.

At Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff: Redcarsgofaster and Heck.

At Borderline, London: White Trash ana Half Cast and Revere.

If you haven't checked it out already, the SCCC advert is on page 64 of this weeks NME so well worth a peak at in WHSmiths if you enjoy seeing things in print more than on a screen. First gig of the tour is on Wednesday in Liverpool, it's all getting a bit exciting.

9th Mar

We are guessing that this is alright to post and fair to the band so here goes...

If you are after one of the tasty SCCC t-shirts that made the rounds last year on tour (they may be gone by the tour next week) you can purchase one of many different sizes from Meow Music UK on eBay. We are guessing that this is ok with the band as White Trash ana Half Cast have advertised their fantastic new single Judas To The Masses/I Don't Know as being for sale there. With that being on Boon(e) and everything, we're sure it's all kosher.

10th Mar

In looking forward to their gig in Cardiff on Thursday, Kruger Magazine have just posted an interview with the band (or at least a couple of them) which can be read here. It touches on books, influences and there is a good chunk of chunky album information which has more than whet our appitie here at I Tried On Your Wedding Dress.

"we never thought we could do half of the stuff we did: hours were spent working on little synthesizer riffs and chopped up electronics, banging gongs and brass pots"

Give it a read and yeah start getting excited.

11th Mar

Our Myspace correspondent Stephenfer has reported back with more information on what to expect in the gigs this week. The bulletin says.

"in our spare time we've been building a whole new stage set; expect amazing feats of art and design, added to a phenomenal light show and some tunes in the background."

They had mentioned lights in the Kruger interview that we posted the other day so we'll flatter ourselves and say that they probably posted this as we forgot to mention it in the news post. Does this mean they are going to be really really flashy and quality? Here at I Tried On Your Wedding Dress we're hoping for a show which combines the cinema of Hope of the States, the lights of the Butthole Surfers/Flaming Lips and the music of The Seal Cub Clubbing Club. That would be rather top notch.

Today we've also added an attempt at transcribing the lyrics to Chase Scene they are obviously totally wrong, "and so I changed my life/to teach in Azerbijan" but at least it's an attempt. If you happen to know they lyrics or can correct the ones we've got at all then please get in contact with us.

11th Mar

Just found an ace little poster on the Kruger Magazine website advertising the gig on Thursday.

poster for the SCCC gig in Cardiff on Thursday

Be there or be square.

14th Mar

The first gig of the tour at Carling Academy Liverpool is happening tonight and our Myspace correspondent, Genny has this to report:

"we play the Liverpool Carling Academy 2 tonight, doors at half 7, we'll be on at half 9 and the curfew is around half 10.

it's 7 pound on the door or 6 if you buy a ticket beforehand, you can get them on the internet if you search for "seal cub clubbing club" and go to seetickets or one of the others..."

Just a quick note that if you are planning on buying in advance, we'd recommend Ticket Web over the others as it seems to have less booking fees and the like. Oops it seems to have sold out. If you are going tonight, have a really good time and don't forget to tell us how good it was.

15th Mar

Cardiff gig tonight at Clwb Ifor Bach. Have fun chaps and chappettes.

16th Mar

It's the London gig tonight at Borderline which will be jolly exciting. Expect a report on it over the weekend at some point.

There will be a surprise on this site sometime next week so get your artist hats on in preparation. We might make it worth your while.

18th Mar

Will put more effort into writing up the gig later but in the meantime, here is a summary as it happened on the official I Tried On Your Wedding Dress mobile phone.

19th Mar

Reading tickets sorted, lets hope we get The SCCC at both Reading and Leeds this year in the Carling Tent rather than just at Leeds on the comedy like last year. A mid-afternoon slot on the... well any slot on any stage would be peachy so fingers crossed folks. A set at Truck would be good as well.

20th Mar

It looks like the new official SCCC website is up and running.

The Seal Cub Clubbing Club

26th Mar

Phew, it's been a long time without any news here at I Tried On Your Wedding Dress, not because of any lack of news on the SCCC front but because of coursework and slothfulness.

New headlining tour has just been announced for June calling at Birmingham on the 11th, Bristol on the 12th, London on the 13th, Liverpool on the 15th and finally Newcastle on the 16th. They are also playing on Wednesday (28th) of this month supporting Low vs Diamond at Carling Academy Liverpool. For £3 (half price) guestlist places, e-mail the band.

Hopefully you'll have already checked out the new official SCCC website but if you haven't, may we point you towards it: The SCCC. We'll have a sweet-ass competition up in the week so get your pens and pencils ready.

27th Mar

Just to let you know that tickets for the upcoming tour are available on Ticket Web. They are slightly less harsh about booking and postage fees so go with them over See Tickets.

28th Mar

You must have seen the mega(ish) competition at the top of the page and if you haven't started your entry then get on it now. In other news, we've put up a forum for you to talk about SCCC on if you so wish. It's a bit quiet right now but I'm sure it'll be full of exciting discussion soon.

Myspace correspondent Jerrifer has reported that there are new photographs on the SCCC Myspace. The photos look like they're from the Borderline gig on the last tour and they give a little peek at the new Jon Owen backdrops.

29th Mar

A new version (off the album) of this sites theme, AurientEEring can be heard here!'It's pretty fucking awesome if you excuse the language. It sounds so lush and well if it's any indication about how Super Science Fiction is going to sound then it looks like we're going to be getting a classic album.
