The legs for the header image are here. This is just a silly little hack to get them to display properly. Well done for looking at the code anyways :P

April 2007

3rd Apr

Myspace indicated that that be when Super Science Fiction will be released upon us. It's shaping up to be a lovely snowy... June if this stays correct. Listen here if you want a little preview of the album (listen to AurientEEring).

A tasty tour poster has been released upon the world for the upcoming June tour. You can see it below and you can buy tickets here.

June 2007 tour

Not sure if we've missed a trick here or if Myspace correspondent Jenmnifer has been a lazy so and so, but the Cub Clubbing Club are playing Liverpool's Zanzibar venue on the 27th of this month. No tickets online at the moments by the look of it and it doesn't seem to be a VALHALLA so yeah, but it could well be a warm up for the June tour. If you haven't already seen the band then you should pop along too see what all the fuss is about, nice small venue and all that.

10th Apr

Only a month or so later here at I Tried On Your Wedding Dress, we've found a pretty good interview with the band. It can be read here and gives a bit more insight into World of Fashion and gives hints about the album and the future.

We're already excited about Song For Haku 2 and we've only heard the first one live.

14th Apr

The album version of Slow-Motion Powerslides (In Dee) has been put up for your listening pleasure on the SCCC Myspace. You can really see what the band meant when they said that the songs are properly finished now rather than just written. The new chanting verse part sounds so haunting and the drums are togarific, this really is the definative version of Powerslides.

The competition will end later tonight after the moving back to uni has been completed so you still have a chance to win if you enter something this evening.

Sorry this took so long but courseworkblahblah and all that... Anyways, now for the winners of the mega amazing Seal Cub Clubbing Club competition!

In first place with his drawing of World of Fashion is... Mr Tom Barnett!
Tom wins the EP II cd.

In second place with his interpretation of Celine is Sean...
Sean wins the World of Fashion 7".

If you happen to be either Tom or Sean, don't worry as we'll be getting in contact with you in seconds to get your address to send the goody off to. Also, well done!

If you haven't got tickets for the up coming tour yet then why not? Go purchase tickets here.

In completely unrelated news, has anyone heard any of the new Black Francis album Bluefinger yet? It does sound like it could have been the new Pixies record but without the rest of the band (anyone who has seen loudQUIETloud will realise why there may be no album in the near future). It definately sounds like was written as a Pixies record from the couple of tracks we've heard here.

Resident Myspace hussy Jennifer says that they said:

"that's right, tomorrow we're off to record our first ever music video. the video will accompany the first release from our debut album, Super Science Fiction, which will be announced shortly... the video will deal with the events following the discovery of an ancient Malaysian demon known as 'A Bao A Qu', operating on Calday Hill. For the purposes of budget, South London will double as the hill."

We've even gone and wikipediaed A Bao A Qu for you, aren't we nice. It sounds as though this will be an event worthy of spying on so if anyone reading happens to be in South London tomorrow and sees a group of lads playing with blue lights and tenticles don't hesitate to capture images with your fancy camera phones or whatever you kids make your snuff films with these days.

Thank you band for plugging the forums, they were in need of a good plug.

27th Apr

Just so you know, The SCCC are playing tonight at the Zanzibar in Liverpool.

Our resident Myspace fridge magnet Jnnfr reports that there will be a DJ set by The Coral and lots of other bands will be playing.

"THE FIRST FIFTY IN WILL GET A FREE CD FEATURING, AMONG OTHERS, US!

£5 £5 £5 £5"

Can't beat a free CD and a Seal Cubs set for a fiver.

29th Apr

There appears to be a rather nice poster (as seen below) advertising the SCCC June tour situated outside the Carling Academy in Birmingham. It's almost a landmark... but not quite as it's overshadowed by the huge Steve Vai poster besides it.

Anyways if you are visiting Birmingham in the next few weeks it makes for a better tourist attraction than Selfridges (it'll probably have taken off by the time you get here) or Broad Street (you'll actually get stabbed) so pop along to the Academy and bathe in the glory of the Seal Cubs poster.

N.B. You won't be able to take the poster as it is well protected behind strong plastic.
